The Executive Committee

The newly elected Executive Committee comprises:

Bianca Jagger, Human rights advocate, Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador

Deputy Chair
Vandana Shiva, Founder of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology

Tariq Banuri, Director of the Asia Centre of the Stockholm Environment Institute

Prof. Stephen A. Marglin, Economist, Harvard University


The Executive Committe is entrusted with the following tasks:

  • convening Council meetings
  • electing the members of the Board of Trustees and dismissing them should reasons prevail
  • preparing the work programme and activities of the Council
  • accompanying the activities of the Council
  • proposing new members for the Executive Committee and the Council
  • reporting to the Council on the activities of the Executive Committee
